It’s been a while since I have had time to blog, not because I have not been writing but because my time writing time has been very personal with God. This new season has brought excitement for the next season, joy for the accomplishments of those I love, a heart full of love as we intentionally pour into others and vice versa. On the flip side, it has also brought a lot of fear for the unknown, sadness for what we will lose, and a sense of loneliness as a new normal is being established.
This time has been a time to lean into God, not just lean ON but to lean INTO. It’s a time when I choose to give Him all of me. If I could physically crawl up into His lap, that’s where you would find me. I have to remember that He is the author and the perfecter of my soul, my faith and my future. He protects, directs and guides us as we choose to submit to His will and His way. It’s hard, especially when we want so desperately to hold on to what we know to be good, and to hold off the pain that we know is around the corner.
Are you in this season? Is life one step away from a huge change or transition, be it a joy or sorrow? I think we all are and I think we naturally push against both. We like our comfort because it affords a sense of control in this seemingly out of control world. God loves us enough to take us where we are but to move us into what He wants us to be. This can be painful as we are stretched, pushed and refined, but just like a diamond, we come out of the fire beautiful and hand carved just the way the Master designed. This is where our light shines, not because it’s a perfect life, but because we have chosen to be a light out of the darkness we have been in and live around.
So whether your season is a joy-filled transition or one filled with fear and uncertainty, know as Ecclesiates 3:1 says “there is a time and a season for everything under the heavens.” Whatever tomorrow holds, choose to trust the Master designer who holds you and loves you more than you can ever imagine and will use whatever circumstance to pull you closer to Him.
