Greetings! What an exciting year we have had at Choosing Him Ministries! We have seen incredible growth, success, and ministry opportunities to serve and connect women to Jesus, God’s Word and each other. In January, we watched God turn our dreams into reality and officially opened our Biblical Counseling and Training Center. In October 2023, we hired Kayla Whittle, an established biblical counselor, to help get us accredited, set up professionally and organizationally to open this new ministry. In October, Kayla moved on to a position on the CHM Board of Directors, and we are excited to have her wisdom, guidance, and voice on behalf of the counseling and training ministry. Debbie Stevens, Mary Hand, and Tecia Janes are the Biblical Counselors, serving over 25 individual clients to date. We have accreditation and specialties in grief and loss, addiction, family, and marriage. It has been an incredible honor to walk beside women in their journeys as they begin to feel seen, heard, and loved by our Heavenly Father.
We launched our Training Ministry in October with Mary Hand offering classes on Anger Management and Boundaries. In January we will continue this growth and I will be facilitating a class called Healing Hearts. This course walks women with wounds of the heart through grief to forgiveness and healing. A Next Steps for Believers class will be offered as we seek to grow and mentor new disciples in the faith. We have served over 50 women in class and group settings to date.
In November 2024, we hired Jenni Peters as the Executive Administrator for CHM. Jenni is no stranger to CHM; she was the mastermind behind our amazing five-year celebration in 2023. Jenni has a heart for women and for God’s Word. She has already been a huge asset to the organization as she helps lead these additional ministries.
Andra Pape, our personal walking miracle, has been recovering beautifully from her heart transplant last year, and she was able to share her testimony at The Gathering in October. Andra has been busy interviewing people on the Act 2 Podcast as women share the goodness of God and how He has intersected their lives in the most unexpected ways. I have the privilege to see each woman go into the room and share their story – the good, the bad, and the ugly and then they share the goodness of God. They each come out with a different perspective of their story and purpose. It’s truly amazing and an honor to witness.
As I review the growth and success of this year I am grateful for God’s provision and for you! It is only because of your partnership that we have been able to expand our reach and be the hands and feet of Christ. Your prayers, encouragement, and gifts have been the very foundation that have supported us in this ministry. We are local missionaries, and with your continued support, we will be able to reach our goals of offering training and counseling at a minimal cost to our clients. We covet your prayers and give thanks every day for your partnership.
As Paul says in Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV)
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
May God bless you and your family, and may you have a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Tecia Janes
