Oh how I have missed you all! Thank you so much for your support and love as we kicked off James and CHOICES this fall. I loved every minute of my time with you and I continue to pray over each of you.
My prayer this season for you and for me was to not miss Jesus. Yes, we sing of Him and acknowledge Him, we tell our kids of His birth and we may read the account in Luke, but was our heart seeking him? If we go through the motions of what “Christians” are supposed to do at Christmas, then it also ends with Christmas. If we seek Him with our hearts to connect, love, obey, and trust with every emotion and circumstance then our relationship deepens and continues to grow through and after Christmas. Jesus left us with a commission, to go and tell the world about Him. He did not want it to end with a story, it was only the beginning for us, a relationship that would spill out and become our passion to tell others. We would not want anyone to miss out on the love and the special relationship that we have with our Creator.
So here’s a challenge and thought for the coming year… What are your true priorities?
1. Take a look at your calendar and your checkbook and that will tell you. See if you need to make some changes to make God first in your life, not your left overs.
2. Find a bible study to plug into. Why do have life groups, Weight watchers, and AA meetings? Because accountability keeps us on the right track when Satan tries to pull us away. PLUG IN!
3. Serve. Find a place to give back. Join a church and find an area to serve. Find a non-profit like Back Pack buddies to feed the children or Bridging the Gap who feeds families and give back. It’s a healthy way to avoid depression and to refocus our priorities.
I love you all and I wish you a (late) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to yours.
Choosing Him,
Tecia
