One of the scariest steps for me were the first ones. I was scared to step out, scared to reach for a dream and fail, scared to get stuck in my own lack of knowledge. Once I got past myself…my fears..my insecurities….my inadequacies….. I was able to listen and allow God to direct my path. Last year, God positioned some key people in my life that encouraged me, supported me and guided my on a road they had already been on. There was a lot of comfort knowing they had already asked the same hard questions, toiled over the same road blocks yet in their obedience, they allowed God to use their gifts to glorify Him.
My heart’s desire in starting Choosing Him Ministries was to walk along the path with someone else like others had done for me. To encourage, to support and guide someone else to realize a God-given dream was a burning desire for me. God provided that opportunity this past year for my new friend, a pastor in Jasper, Alabama to realize his God-given dream.
Alan Beasley, pastor of First United Methodist Church published his first book, a 366 day devotional, “Growing Moments in the Presence of God”. This book is a great reminder to start our day with our first priority, spending time with God, meditating on His word and applying it to our lives. It was such a humbling honor to walk this road with Alan.
