As I read Luke 17:26-27 today, I am reminded of a recent visit I made with a friend to see the Ark in Northern Ky. I had seen it before, but it still amazes me.
God spoke to me that just as He made the Ark a place of salvation for Noah, his family, and the animals, faith in Jesus is salvation for me, you, and our families.
Noah heard the Lord speak. He listened, but most importantly, he OBEYED. The Lord drew the animals to the Ark, and once safely inside, He provided for their every need, along with Noah and his family. The Ark was a place of security, protection, and provision.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Lord is still in the business of drawing people to Him. He is our place of security, protection, and provision. He pulls up and out those drowning in the flood of deception. The enemy uses deception (The thief (Satan) comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; but I (Jesus) have come that they might have life and have it to the full (abundantly) John 10:10 to keep us from seeing the Truth in the person of Jesus, who is calling out to save us. In John 14:26, Jesus says He is the way, the Truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through him.
Jesus provides everything we need today, just as he did for Noah. The key is listening when we hear and obeying, just as Noah did. Destruction is coming for those who ignore the call, ignore the Truth, and choose to go their own way. Run quickly, immediately, and without delay to the safety, security, and salvation that only Jesus provides, and you will be saved.
